CM accountants was approached for a second opinion when a client of a well-known and established firm of accountants in Liverpool advised him to settle an investigation into his affairs by the H M Revenue and Customs with a payment of £500,000.
John Green undertook a detailed review of all relevant material and concluded that there was no case to support such a settlement. CM accountants was instructed to assume responsibility for the case and to bring it to a speedy conclusion.
A Report was prepared which was used as a basis for eventual settlement with the Inspector, who accepted that no further taxes were payable. The client therefore saved £500,000, which he would have paid to the H M Revenue and Customs if he had not consulted CM accountants.
