CM accountants Limited has extensive experience in the preparation of Forensic Reports to support Legal Defence Teams in criminal cases. It is often the case that Legal Aid can be obtained to cover the costs of the preparation of such a Report, the contents of which can have very positive results.
One example of this was a case of an employee who was charged by the police with the theft of large amounts of money over several years. The Police Financial Investigator had prepared a Report for the prosecution which outlined what appeared to be an open and shut case.
CM accountants Limited examined the Report, discussed all aspects of the case with the employee and re-examined, in depth, the prime evidence on which the prosecution Report was based. A totally different conclusion was arrived at, supported by documentary evidence.
The CM accountants Limited Report was delivered to the Prosecution and, as a result, all charges were dropped and the case never even reached Court.
