A family that had arrived in the UK as refugees from their war torn homeland set up a business to support themselves and soon came onto the HMR&C radar.

A high level investigation of their affairs was instigated and HMR&C was looking to assess the business to hundreds of thousands of unpaid taxes.  Their accountant had produced accurate financial statements but that didn’t stop HMR&C and eventually he admitted that he could not defend his clients any further.  They were introduced to CM by a former very satisfied client and Morag Collins challenged the HMR&C position and eventually was able to prove that there was no additional tax for the family to pay whatsoever.
